All Black + Print

When all else fails wear black…it’s the oldest trick in the style book, right?! Technically yes that’s true, but with spring right around the corner start thinking about the perfect pops of colors or prints that your wardrobe needs to spruce up your go-to all black looks. Head-to-toe black is so sexy and is definitely appropriate year round, but the key to making it season appropriate for spring/summer is incorporating brighter pieces into the total look. There’s no better way to do this other than layering!

Think of light, airy layers like this sheer printed tunic that I’m wearing from ZARA. I paired it with a silk romper (remixed as shorts), a thrifted turtleneck and ShoeDazzle boots. For spring I’m loving lace overlays, silk/linen blend kimonos, lightweight flowing trenches and waistcoat vest styles {can you tell I’m over winter lol}. A few of my favorite stores right now to shop for these styles are ASOSSheInMissguided & of course ZARA.

Now can we talk about these pictures for a minute?! My Husband shot them {he takes all of my pictures} and I absolutely love the vibe of them for some reason. I’ve realized that it doesn’t matter the location or the “fanciness” of the camera to get my point across…all that matters is the energy between the photographer and I. He makes me feel so comfortable to the point where I can let all of my inhibitions go and just be myself. What that really equates to is 60% hella awkward, 20% straight goofy, and on a good day 20% model mode. That’s literally the math it takes for me to get a decent amount of shots to share with ya’ll! So with that said, words can’t describe how much I appreciate this amazing man of mine for always being willing to actively participate in my photo ops that I always plan at the worst times (i.e. him watching a game, working on cars, eating, napping, etc.)…that dang sun is so unpredictable!! 😉  I honestly thought I was the worst until my Sister-In-Law sent me this Instagram Husband article <click here> that literally had me dying laughing!! Then I came across a Glamour Magazine article <click here> with real life letters from life & style bloggers to their husbands…then I was like OK my Hubby has it good! *phew*

On a serious note, it’s so important in a marriage to have a spouse that supports you in all of your endeavors and truly believes in you 100%…that’s how power couples are made! We are all selfish by human nature but it takes two people that are willing to work on abandoning their selfish ways to put each other first in everything that they do. I’m only three solid years into my marriage, but I do know that compromise is right up there with trust and loyalty when it comes to the essentials of a successful marriage. I’m just so thankful to God for blessing me with a soulmate that consistently exemplifies these qualities just as I strive daily to do.

Love & blessings until next time…
