Luxe Style: A Cause To Carry

Luxe Style: A Cause To Carry

I think it’s safe to say that we have all splurged on a luxury item before, whether it be a fancy car, a decor piece for the home or a designer handbag…but what if you could invest in a luxury item that could mold the future of a little girls life and prevent her from falling victim to human trafficking, would you do it?

These sweet faces are just a very small representation of the almost 21 million people worldwide that are victims of human trafficking and forced labor. These young girls live in Haiti and are at risk of being pulled out school early because of the cost of private education, which leaves them vulnerable to be forced into domestic servitude or the sex trade.

I was first exposed to the underground world of human sex trafficking through the movie “Taken” that was released back in 2008. My initial reaction was a combination of anger, shock and disgust. To be forced to lose your innocence, freedom and self-love as a vulnerable child is a life that I cannot even fathom. Since ’08 I have been so tuned in to this horrific underground crime, and have often wondered how I can directly make a difference for even a handful of innocent souls {small feat, huh?!}.

What I found to be feasible for myself is engaging in preventive measures like what Brittni Adams of Whitby Handbags is doing with her beautiful line of luxury bags. Whitby is an Atlanta-based company that provides sponsored educations with a portion of their proceeds, and there are currently twenty-three girls in Whitby’s first class to be sponsored. The Codet Satchel (pictured below) sponsors one girl for one year of school in Haiti. For some this is a small investment that can make such a huge impact on someone’s life…after all we are blessed to be a blessing!

I hope that you will choose to become a sponsor today and carry this beautiful bag with a meaningful cause! Check out the bag I’m rocking here in the color Butter, and enjoy free shipping with code ALIYAFREESHIP.

I also hope you like how I styled my Whitby in this all-white spring look!
